Fixtures until Christmas

The fixtures are nearly all sorted. Until the fixture card is ready you can see fixtures for mens and ladies up until christmas

Ladies World Cup Hockey

You can watch matches from the World Cup in Argentina live or after the game at the following website. This site is worth bookmarking as you can watch most of the highest level international hockey competitions. The link is also available in the links section on the left of the site

New Rules of Hockey:

Changes in indoor and outdoor rules will apply from 1st Sept in all competitions. Outdoors the experimental rules on free hits become full rules, it is no longer an offence to force an opponent to foul, penalty goals disappear, and fhd (defensive free hit presumably) in the circle must be in line with the position of the offence. Indoors, experimental rules become full rules, fha in the opposition half deflected off the sideboard may enter the circle without touching another stick, and penalty goals again disappear. In both games, penalties for offences during penalty corners will be listed in detail. Full details available via the EHB website news page.

Trials, Home fixtures + Juniors

Postby Pete M on Thu Aug 12, 2010 8:53 am

Trials
Trials is booked for Saturday 4th September 2010 from 2:30-5:30 pm at DeHav.

All welcome
Blue and white polo shirts for sale on the day.

Home Fixtures
The men's and ladies' home fixtures for the 2010-11 season are now available on the East and 5 Counties League websites. These show the pushback time and which home pitch you will be playing at i.e. De Havilland or Wodson Park. A full list of home and away fixtures will be published on the club webpages once all of the away fixtures have been confirmed.
We've also arranged a series of friendly games for pre-season and the in-season breaks, so hopefully there should be plenty of hockey...

We have set down a few guiding principles this year to ensure that the home-fixture pushback times and pitches are allocated fairly across the club. The idea is that no one team is consistently starting late or early in the day, that we give consideration to the distance our opposition has to travel and the likely availability of our limited pool of umpires. (If anyone is interested in becoming an umpire please contact the umpire coordinator or anyone from the committee).

Sunday Junior Training - Volunteers
Can you spare a Sunday (10:00 - 11:30) this season to help with Junior training?
Any offers of help are always greatly appreciated, please email junior.coaching@wgchockeyclub.co.uk.
